On the occasion of the 98th anniversary of the Republic of Turkey, organized by Gazi University Turkic World Application and Research Center (TURKDAM), the "We Celebrate Our Republic Day Together with the Turkic World" event was held. The program was hosted by Prof. Dr. Bülent Aksoy.

After the moment of silence and the National Anthem, the program started with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ömer Türkmenoğlu's performance of "Altın Hızma", "Hava Bulut Yok" and "HoşGelmeler Ola Mustafa Kemal Paşa". Our Rector Prof. Dr. Musa Yıldız, who made the opening speech of the program, said, "The National Struggle that Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk started against the colonial and occupying forces by landing in Samsun on May 19, 1919 has ended in victory as a result of the sacrifice, determination and absolute determination of the Turkish nation despite all the impossibilities."

"This struggle was crowned with the proclamation of the Republic on October 29, 1923," said our Rector Prof. Dr. Musa Yıldız, adding that the Turkish unity became stronger after the Karabakh Victory. Pointing out that our Republic will stand tall as long as the world exists, our Rector Prof. Dr. Musa Yıldız said, "As long as we are in unity and solidarity."

Our Rector Prof. Dr. Musa Yıldız concluded his speech as follows: "I commemorate with mercy all our martyrs, especially Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, who made this land our homeland, and I thank and pay my respects to everyone who contributed to the realization of this program in the person of Prof. Dr. Alev Çakmakoğlu Kuru, Director of the Turkic World Application and Research Center of our University."

Then the opening speeches continued; Gazi University Turkic World Research Center (TURKDAM) Director Prof. Dr. Alev Çakmakoğlu Kuru made his opening speech by saying, "Greetings to our compatriots who share our republican joy with us in the Balkans, Crimea, Turkestan and Turkmeneli" and thanked all participants. "Our call from Gazi University, 'What a happy Turk I am!' echoes in Baku, Turkestan city, Bishkek, Tashkent, Ashgabat, Nicosia and Kirkuk," he said.

Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University Prof. Dr. Jafar Jafarov talked about the friendship of Turkey and Azerbaijan and the martyrs of Turkey-Azerbaijan who fought side by side. Then, the students of Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University sang the "Canakkale Anthem" in chorus. Rector of Azerbaijan State University of Civilization and Fine Arts Prof. Dr. Ceyran Mahmudova expressed his happiness to celebrate the Republic Day together. He briefly mentioned the importance of the "Karabakh Shikestesi". Aynur Hasanhanova, Safiyyet Yakuplu and the instrumental team presented the work "Karabakh Shikestesi" to the participants.

Ahmet Yesevi University Rector Prof. Dr. Cengiz Tomar said, "I offer my heartfelt love and respect from Turkestan, the spiritual capital of the Turkic world." "Our Republic Day is an example and a means of inspiration not only for Turkey, but also for the Turkic world, for the Islamic world and for all oppressed states," he said. He ended his speech by wishing that the Turkish geography would remain in unity forever and that other imprisoned Turkish and Islamic countries would be saved.

​ The song "Turkish Blood" of the Er Turan Ensemble, which was played with Turkish instruments, was presented to the audience with an interesting video. Immediately afterwards, Sebahattin Sivrikaya's song "Bring me Ayyıldız Bayrak" was played.

​ Prof. Dr. Çağatay Akengin, lecturer at Kyrgyzstan Turkey Manas University, reminded Sultan Alparslan's words "I bought you such a homeland that it will be yours forever!" and Atatürk's words "The Republic of Turkey will forever remain a shareholder" and stated that these words are a password for us. Then he mentioned that we have to do our best to maintain these goals.

The program continued with the work "Kyrgyz Ceri" performed by Elmira Tacieva in her relaxing voice. After the music performance, Hatice Özler Şahin, Historical Advisor to the President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, stated that the republic is a great virtue and virtue and that they take this struggle as an example. He ended his speech by wishing that the cultural, social and economic unity of the Turkic world would continue to grow stronger. After his speech, our artist Soyhan Bilgeer of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus performed his work "Famagusta Port" live with his emotional interpretation.

Prof. Dr. Berdi Sarıyev from the Department of Modern Turkic Dialects and Literatures, Faculty of Language, History and Geography, Ankara University, started his speech by reading Mahdumkulu's verses. Stating that this holiday has now exceeded the borders of Turkey, reached the Turkic world and turned into a common holiday, Prof. Dr. Berdi Sarıyev ended his sentences with his advice and appeals to young people.

​ The performance of the Turkmenistan Folk Dance Ensemble was brought to the audience.

Cabbar İşankulu, Director of the Aliser Nevaiyi State Literature Museum of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, made his speech about the unity of language, history and culture by referring to Atatürk's words "The truest mentor in life is science."

TRT Avaz performed the folk song "Mum Kimi Yanan Kekük" performed by Mehmet Özbek from Türk Toyu program. Then, the Khwarazm Ensemble performed the work "Karagöz".

At the end of the program, the "Motherland March" was listened to with enthusiasm with the video taken at Gazi University.
